A small group of Annandale and Glebe residents are currently engaged in a proposal for establishing a collective community permaculture garden in the Annandale area. We have a site in mind with strong prospects of acquisition and good locational attributes. Currently we are in negotiation with relevant Council staff and site owners, poring over site maps, and gathering ideas for possible features (Permaculture design demonstration garden, 'Earthworks'-linked community composting and waste education, native food plants, introducing water ecology, and fauna).
We are looking for a core group of people wanting to participate in development of the project.
In particular we are encouraging people that live LOCALLY to this area to get involved with the project, to voice any design ideas and incorporate the wants and needs of different community members in a 'green space' in the area. To participate in the development of the garden, to line up an ongoing participation group and any other contributions.
Gavin has a background in Permaculture and Beth Buchanan (co-conspirator in the idea) in native plants, revegetation & community nurseries, however any contributions, ideas or expressions of interest are totally encouraged.
