Annandale's Great War: A Short Walk by Marghanita da Cruz with line drawing of Annandale War MemorialOver 1200 men are remembered on the Honour boards at the Annandale Neighbourhood Centre alone. The war memorial in Hinsby park lists only a few of those who did not return. There are several other honour boards in Churches and Schools.

In the confusion of war, mothers were informed of deaths, and sometimes elated when it turned out not to be.

1910 to 1920 was a turbulent time in Politics and the water front, as the National focus turned to the war effort.

Annandale's Great War is the third book in a series which looks at the History of Annandale, while taking a short walk of its War Memorials.

The Short Walk books are available from the Annandale Village Newsagency (in shops at the corner of Johnston and Booth Street).
