Turning off the freeway, I did a double take at the South Creek railway station and decided to investigate. Di enlightened me about the "station" and I also met Dave (a train washer) and his wife Denise
The "station" is the St Mary's outpost of the Vietnam Veteran's Association is just of the M4 Freeway at St Mary's. They are located in the "South Creek Railway Station".
It transpires that South Creek was the original name of what is now St Mary’s township. The "South Creek railway station" includes BHP Newcastle's 0-4-0T steam locomotive Number 16; Tulloch double-deck EMU trailer car T4823; ODS2257 (ex-OFS2257), an RUB Daylight Express carriage; and EPT1481, a 1913-vintage wooden-bodied guards van (formerly EHO669...http://www.vvaastmarys.org.au/site/The_Outpost_Train.asp(viewed 21 January 2013).
The "Train Washers" are the back bone of the train.
