Incorporating Audio into an ePub

The ePub format allows for video and audio though at the time of writing (November 2016) the support from distribution platforms such as Lulu and Amazon(Kindle) is limited.

In the example, test.epub, MP3 Audio has been incorporated into an ePub (eBook) and tested on the Firefox/Ubuntu with EPUBReader.

The audio in html (webpage) has been tested on

• The audio in the webpage works in Firefox 47.0 on Ubuntu 15.10 'Wily Werewolf'

Audio in ePub

test.epub is a small (86.5kB) ePub incorporating MP3 Audio.
