Boomalli 2024 Fundraiser

Boomalli will be hosting a fundraiser exhibition from Friday 8th November to Saturday 23rd November 2024.Boomalli will be hosting a fundraiser exhibition from Friday 8th November to Saturday 23rd November 2024.

We will also be running a silent auction with experiences and prizes donated by our partner organisations and local businesses.

Boomalli is the longest running Aboriginal owned and run arts organisation dedicated to supporting and promoting NSW language group artists. This is your opportunity to contribute to Boomalli's future and ensure there continues to be a safe space for NSW Aboriginal artists to share their stories and their art.

It is important that Boomalli continues to advocate and fight for a strong presence and voice for NSW mob in the arts.

Come along on the night to celebrate and show your support for Boomalli and our artists!

Container Deposit Schemes

All states now have a Container Deposit Scheme - but they apply to different containers. Look for the 10c label on the container to see if it is eligible for a refund. Remember to leave the lids on when returning your containers. They'll be recycled too.

NSW: . All Glass, Plastic and Metal containers can go into Yellow Bins except soft plastics. These should either be taken back to the store or put in RED bin.see REDCYLE (viewed 24/10/2024), Soft plastic recycling is back after the REDcycle collapse – but only in 12 supermarkets. Will it work this time? Published: February 15, 2024 6.21am AEDT(viewed 24/10/2024)

Land for Trees and Cycleways

truck using Church ParkingStreet Tree We need land for trees and cycles if we are going to tackle Climate Change.

" In 2005, an average of over 120,000 vehicles travelled through Annandale each dayRTA.
If all these vehicles were the 2010 Holden VE SIDI Commodore Berlina and they travelled just 1km, they would have generated 301g CO2-e(greenguide) each. The total CO2-e equivalent generated by Traffic through Annandale, in just one day, would be 301g*120,000 vehicles =36,120kg.
A Hardwood Tree, such as box, gum or olive, with a 32cm girth stores 17 kg or the CO2-e of 62kg(Tree Carbon Calculator). To be carbon neutral, Annandale would need the equivalent of 582 Trees for each day's traffic!"...https://ramin.com.au/annandale/carbon-footprint-traffic.shtml

We need to make better use of our road reserve to provide underutilised land for pedestrians, public transport, trees, vegetation and cycleways....https://perambuler.ramin.com.au/2023/08/land-for-trees-and-cycleways.html
