Historic Organs in Annandale
Preparing for 2026 Heritage Festival in Annandale. Came across Hunter Baillie's "famous Hill & Son organ, standing on a raised platform at the rear of the church, is one of the best-preserved and most visually appealing instruments built by the firm in the last decade of the 19th century." "St Aidan's Anglican Church. 1968 J.P. Eagles incorporating case and pipework from previous organ,c.1890 Nicholson & Lord, Walsall, England."...sadly "This organ has been broken up and removed. In 2002 the organ façade was aquired by Peter Jewkes and is currently in storage [Peter Jewkes 2006].".. https://www.sydneyorgan.com/AnnandaleAng.html.
The Hunter Baillie Organ was restored in 2016 and is regularly played.
